UMJ Students Win 2nd Place in South Tangerang City Mobile Legends Tournament

   University Jakarta ( UMJ) students won 2nd place in the Mobile Legends Tournament at the Youth Month Celebration event held by the South Tangerang City Youth and Sports Department , at the South Tangerang City Hall Puspem 2-4 October 2023. This team consisting of five students succeeded in eliminating 8 other teams from a total of 13 participating teams in South Tangerang City.  


The five students are Yazid Achmad Dzulham ( FIP ), Wildan Defulloh ( FISIP ), Muhammad Faisal Aprija ( FAI ), Alfin Husna Ridho Pangestu ( FEB ), and Muhammad Faris Aulia Rizki (FISIP). The team was formed from the results of a selection carried out in September 2023 which was attended by UMJ students.

Selection participants are required to form a team consisting of five people. Then the qualifying teams are re-selected and individuals are taken to form a new team. Yazid et al., train every weekend from 2 pm to 5 pm.

The preparations carried out for less than three weeks produced sweet results. Yazid et al., won 2nd place after going through the qualifying round with a best of one system , and advanced to the semi-finals to the final with a best of three . “At first I didn't expect to be able to enter the final and win 2nd place because the preparation was quite short. "We are very happy because this is the first time the UMJ E-Sport Community has won and can be a motivation for the future," said Yazid.

Yazid added that the Mobile Legends team from the UMJ E-Sport Community could be more enthusiastic, disciplined in training, and not disappoint the campus environment. Through his statement on Tuesday (10/10/2023), Yazid admitted that this team was formed through the UMJ E-Sport Community which was initiated independently by him and other students who are active in the world of E-sports in early 2023.

Student enthusiasm for the field of E-sports is quite high as seen from the number of students who have now joined, reaching approximately 180 people from all faculties at UMJ. Currently the UMJ E-Sport Community gathers E-sports players starting from Mobile Legends, PUBG Mobile, and Free Fire. Next, we will collect other games such as Valorant, Free Fire, and Winning Eleven.

UMJ Becomes the First Team to Qualify for the Quarter-Finals of the U-23 Menpora Cup

  The UMJ Football Association team succeeded in becoming the first team to advance to the quarter-finals of the U-23 Menpora Cup after defeating STIE Hidayatullah Depok with a convincing score of 8-1 in the match which was held at the UMJ Football Stadium, Saturday (21/10/23).
